The image you present to others is much more than just how you look. It’s your whole personality not just the way you dress but your body language and etiquette as well. The prescriptions for success prevalent in the eighties focused on dress alone, but that, it turned out, was just the beginning. As we later found, projecting the executive image includes a command of the social graces, since so much of the business we do is conducted outside the office. As for body language – ask yourself whether you move like an executive, or whether your body is sending conflicting messages about your abilities to the people who count.
